Packed

The movers got everything packed up yesterday. They are ahead of schedule. They say that everything will load up today.
This is the only way to move!

Still alive

We made it to Utah. We were definitely THAT family on the airplane though. A 5+ hour flight with a sick toddler isn't fun. He slept for maybe 20 minutes.
The rest of the flight was spent wrestling him, coercing him, comforting him, and listening to the whiny cry of sickness.

Now we are living life in limbo as we wait for the house closing, then delivery of all our stuff.

Sunday we went to our new ward, and I think that helped the kids know there are potential friends here too. Maybe even a cute boy in a 9 year old's Primary class ;)

Kent comes back this week after supervising movers. Closing on Friday. We're almost there! First day of school on Monday. Stuff delivered on Wednesday. Return to normalcy.

Goodbye NY!

Our last view of the city. I wanted to have one last trip to the city with all of us before we left, but the blizzard scrapped that plan, and the following weekend are cars were shipped so we had no way to go. So this was my last beloved view of the city. I like NY. It's an amazing city.
Goodbye NY.

Saturday

My heart hurts today.

Sawyer had his last play date at Alexander's today.

I picked up McKinley from Danielle's sleepover. Cute friend.

Prepped the house for departure.

Shipped my car.

Took one last walk around my neighborhood.

Cried a little.

McKinley's friend Zoe came by to say one last goodbye and give her a matching mood ring.

Josh is sick. Hayden has developed welts. McKinley is sick and has a fever again. The plane ride promises to be interesting.

I can't believe I just walk away from this place tomorrow. I have been happy here. My kids have been happy here. It has been home. My house here is not fancy, in fact, it's kind of a crappy house, but the memories and laughter and love we've had here have made it a great place to be.

Connecticut will always have a piece of my heart.

Friday

Sawyer had his play date with Charlotte today. Her mother told me she has been wanting to play for a while. Charlotte told her mom that Sawyer is the only boy who is ALWAYS nice. I love him.

We picked Sawyer up at 6:00 then went for a family dinner to Friendlys. Not fancy, but it's unique to this coast and has yummy ice cream treats. It was our farewell dinner.

Then we dropped off McKinley for her last sleepover with Her friend Danielle.

(Pictures will come later. My computer is already packed to move)

Valentine's Day

We started our day off right...with a yummy cupcake for breakfast. I got a chocolate red velvet cupcake to share with Josh. All he did was smoosh it! Doesn't he know how much I paid for that?!

The other kids had a great Valentine day. McKinley handmade complimentary valentine's for her class. She also made Sawyer's cards, which were little footballs. I whipped up some Kirby cards for Hayden to hand out. They all had their heart crayons attached to their cards. They actually received candy with their valentines this year! They are usually strict about food/treats at their schools.

Goodbye friends

Today Hayden had a goodbye play date with his "best friend", Toby. He is heartbroken to leave Toby.
Monday McKinley had a farewell party given by her friend Zoe. She was McKinley's friend from the very first day of school here. She had to say goodbye to church friends at activity days tonight too.
Sawyer has one last play date on Friday. Last night he said he doesn't want to go to Utah. He is going to miss his friends.

This is the hardest part of moving.

P.S.  Hayden told me after the play date, "I had fun without you!"  Then he made sure to ask "Did you miss me?"  Always Hayden.
