Airplane
Josh got an airplane for Christmas. He and I went to the park to take it for a spin. It did pretty well and was a lot of fun! We'll have to give it another go when it warms up a bit.

Merry Christmas
We talked the kids into a reasonable start to the day. I got up around 8:30 and the kids were allowed to come upstairs around 9. After stockings were emptied, we opened presents. We had cinnamon rolls available after presents were all opened, although the excitement of new video games outweighed the need for food. We hung out, played games, and explored all that our new toys could do. Around 4:30 we went over to Grandma and Grandpa Van Leeuwen's for more cousin fun and present opening. We finished the night and got home and to bed around 10:00 pm. We had a fun, full day with family. Merry Christmas!
Present recap:
McKinley: clothes, jewelry, cacti.
Sawyer: Xbox games, gift cards for more video games, controllers for video games, and clothes.
Hayden: Nintendo Switch games, Perler beads, video game controllers, and clothes.
Josh: Legos, game controller, Floof, Hatchimals, and clothes.
Kent: FLIR, boots
Heather: art, shirts, hair iron, DNA kit
Family: roomba, pots and pans, Yahtzee, Exploding Kitten, Popcorn tub,

Christmas Eve
Christmas Eve is here!
Sawyer talked me into opening our exchange gift before church if everyone got dressed and ready.
McKinley got a sweatshirt
Sawyer got a gift card to GameStop
Hayden got some Perler beads to craft with
Josh got a car, a giant Hershey Kiss, and some Hershey Hugs.
I took a Sunday church clothes picture in the field by the temple.
Then we went home and got ready for Grandma's. At Grandma's we played a game, ate dinner, played Bingo and then opened presents.
Then back home to open Christmas jammies and get into bed before Santa comes!

Winter fun
It's an "on" day again for Josh's illness. So he's home again with me. It was our first good snow of the season, so Josh went outside to enjoy it a little.
Then he frosted some sugar cookies since he had to go to bed last night before he got to frost any.

Dreidel
Josh has been sick off and on for the past 2 weeks. Today is an "on" day so he's staying home from school again. We spent our morning playing a little dreidel. His spin is getting better this year!

Opera Bars
My sisters and I (Jennie was out of town) got together at my house to try our hands at Grandma Campbell's opera bars. Our first run was a little interesting, but after we got the hang of the size and shapes we needed it turned out pretty nice!

MoTab
I lucked out again this year and got tickets to the Mormon Tabernacle Choir Christmas concert. None of the kids wanted to get dressed up and go with me so I took Shelley along with me and my parents. This year's performer was Sutton Foster and the orator was Hugh Bonneville. We had dinner at Little America, and then took in the lights before we had to be in our seats.

Mistletoe
I have wanted real mistletoe for years! I've looked everywhere and online! This year I happened upon it at the grocery store. Who knew?!

Light the Night
As we were picking up pizza, we happened by all the hullabaloo of the Light the Night in the town center. They light the tree, Santa arrives, there is hot cocoa and cookies, candy window displays.
Josh reeeaaally wanted to go, so I reluctantly took him. But we ended up having a great time! He caught a glimpse of Santa which was enough for him, we ate our cookies and drank our hot chocolate while we looked at the window displays, and then he'd had enough and we went home. It was a fun time with my little buddy.
