McKinley volunteered to be in charge of our service project for YW. She arranged an "unbirthday" party for the people staying at the Women's and Children shelter. It's an emergency shelter for women and their children to escape for violent situations. She planned fun games, face painting, rock painting, and snow cones. It was a great experience for the YW to serve these people.

Tree planting
Our city revamped a park to be all abilities friendly. They was an opportunity to help plant trees and serve our community, so we jumped on it. Actually, McKinley and I jumped on it. The boys were dragged to it. It ended up being 3 hours with a lot of hard manual labor. At the end of the day, they did a good job. It's important to me that they learn to do good.

Mantua Poppy Fields
Another bucket list item. I have loved seeing poppy field pictures online and wanted to go there too. They are apparently very crowded in the day/evening. I wanted good light, so we left around 5 am. It is located at the Box Elder Campground in Mantua, Ut. The good thing about being there so early was that we had the whole field to ourselves, which is unheard of! And McKinley got her instagram pictures. The boys were not as motivated as we were and opted out of the early morning adventure.

Heber Valley
My parents got asked to serve a third year at Heber Valley. So we spent the weekend here again. We love the zip line. I don't love the climb UP to the zip line though. It was a nice cool time in the mountains.

Last day of Boston
Boston University has a top ranked Marine Biology program. So we hopped on the subway and visited this college for McKinley. She even got some school gear.
Afterwards we had a little bit of time left to visit Acorn street which is one of the most photographed streets in the world. The cobblestones are actually original cobblestones. The other cobblestone streets have been upgraded through the years so they are more even.
Then it was off to the airport and back home!

Boston day 3
Kent had to actually work today, so it was just me and McKinley!
We slept in a little, then went on a whale watching cruise. I love whales! We saw lots of humpbacks and some seals.

Boston day 2
We stumbled across a movie being filmed. It was for "Free Guy" starring Ryan Reynolds that's coming out in 2020. We weren't allowed to take pictures of the actual movie scene. We saw a car chase scene with gun shots. It was exciting.
McKinley's biggest wish item for Boston was the aquarium. So we spent all the time she wanted exploring it today.
We got the Go Boston pass. That let us on a harbor cruise.
We ate lunch at Quincy market again, and watched the live statues.
Then we did some of the Freedom trail. Here's Paul Revere's house. Part of the Go Boston pass.
We talked McKinley into hiking up the monument of Bunker's Hill. Our legs were soooo sore! There were 294 stairs.
Literally the best raspberry sorbet of our lives!
We went to the Sky Observatory and hung out until the sun set.
Beautiful views!

Boston trip day 1
We arrived in Boston town today. We checked into our very sketchy hotel and then went downtown to hang out. We ate at Quincy market and got one of my favorites, whoopie pie.
