A boy and his dog

Josh just loves Sadie so much. In fact his first real word was "Sadie". There's just something about a boy and his dog.

The mountains were calling

The mountains are Josh's happy place. He is always such a trooper coming with me to the school. Thursday was one of our rare free days. After cleaning the house up I promised him a visit to the mountains. It was a chilly 46 degrees, and the hike was a short 4 year old attention span one, but we had fun!

Sawyer says...

The kids and I were having a talk about being trustworthy and responsible. They all want bunnies, but that's not going to happen until they are responsible. Sawyer very maturely debated his merits and tried to tell me of his 'responsible' nature by announcing to us: "I am reprehensible."

Last day of Preschool

Josh finished his first year of preschool! He went to Miss Amee's preschool. He had a great experience. On his first day he walked right in and never looked back. It's been like that all year. Today was his last day and he got to bring his Mom. We watched a little bit of what they do each day at preschool. Then we watched a video of their preschool year and played outside. He loves Miss Amee and luckily we will see her next week because she also does his swimming lessons. After preschool we went to lunch at Red Robin with Daddy. He has been watching his preschool video at home and showing his family the video ever since.

Last Soccer Game of the Season

This soccer season flew by. Today was the last day of games. Sawyer has enjoyed playing forward position. He's made quite a few goals this season. Unfortunately, overall, his team has had a losing season. His coach has been great though. Sawyer is considering doing tackle football in the fall instead of soccer. 

Ah 4 year-old soccer. It is either super adorable or super frustrating. This kid is a fast runner and loves to go to practice with coach. He's not such a big fan of games though. He had the tendency to run after the kids instead of the ball. 

McKinley's last game of the season and she was forced to take her turn and be goalie. It is her worst nightmare. She did pretty good though and stopped 4 or so attempts. She had to face off on a penalty shot that was just a good shot and she was sad she couldn't stop it. She has liked playing forward position and has made quite a few goals this season too. She is deciding if she'd like to do comp next year, or just rec.

Studio C

I entered the drawing to see a live taping of Studio C season 7. The kids love the show. And I think it's funny too. Happy day, I won tickets! I got 4 tickets, but you had to be 12 years old to attend, so the boys were out of the running. McKinley invited a friend who loves Studio C too. It was a fun experience.

We have a teenager!

McKinley got to go to school on her birthday and take the standardized SAGE tests. For breakfast she ordered "nothing". For lunch I brought her a caramel cream frapaccino (no coffee products involved) and Subway club sandwich. For dinner she ordered crepes very late in the day (4 pm to be precise). So after running to the grocery store and letting the batter sit for the required one hour, we were finally eating dinner around 7:30. I made her a darling and decadent naked cake with cookies and cream frosting. She opened her presents (clothes) but was most excited about getting her phone back.

Baseball

Our neighbors invited us to a Bees game tonight. Kent had a migraine today so he stayed home. Lucky surprise for us it was fireworks night too! And the Bees won. The kids and I had a great time!

The baseball games get looong so here is one of the many attempts to keep the bubbers entertained. He looks so 'hipster' in McKinley's glasses!

Mulligan's

We had some free mini golf coupons so we used some during the nice weather while the boys were off track. Sawyer went with a buddy who also had a free coupon. I dropped Josh off at preschool and Hayden and I had a nice outing by ourselves. It took only a couple of holes before Hayden had the swing of things and was starting to surpass me by the end of the round. The golf card had a coupon for ice cream at Cold Stone so we got a little treat before we headed back home. It was a fun outing with a fun kid! We need more one on one time.
