It's almost here!

Pay no attention to the snow. Look what I found!
The only reason I have these growing in my yard still is because they are the first flower to bloom in pre-spring, and it means that spring is just around the corner. Look at them! Spring is really coming!

Ouch!

Here we are, again, in the ED for another of Kent's lovely kidney stones. Poor kid.

Hmmm I can't seem to upload the cute picture I took of him in his gown. Maybe later.

Boys and their trucks

My boys love cars and trucks. We went on a walk outside today (which by the way, what a perfect spring-y day!) with Sawyer pushing his dump truck the whole way, and Hayden stopping to point out every car and truck he saw. They go out almost every day to push their trucks around on the basketball court (even when it's freezing outside and I can't find their gloves so I stick socks on their hands). It has made the long winter months more bearable with even a few minutes of the boys and their outside time :)

I love outlets!

I grabbed the kids and hauled them up to Park City to check out the outlets sale so I could stock up on next winter's size kid's clothes. Ooooh, good deals! I got McKinley a puffy Gap Coat for next year that was on sale for $14 from $60! Go to the website first and get the list of deals and coupons, because not only were the prices good, but I got 20% on top of it! Did you know they have a Lucky Brand store and JCrew too! I didn't do any 'me' shopping, but one spring day I will (without kids)!

Do not flush

There is a love/hate relationship with cars at my house. Sawyer and Hayden are huge car boys. During potty training Sawyer would get a "potty car" if he used the potty. So we have quite a few. I love that they'll entertain the boys for more than 10 minutes. I hate cleaning them off the floor 100 times a day.
Today was not a good car day. I had visiting teachers over while the boys played "quietly" downstairs. When Hayden was walking around upstairs after said visitors, I noticed the bottom of his pants were wet. That's not good. The boys had dumped a bucket of cars into the toilet and flushed away. The good news is the Hummer plugged the hole for the most part and no other cars made it down the pipe.
And yes, I had to pick out each and every one of them, blech.

Baby love

I wanted some newborn picture practice so I went to my childhood friend's house today to take pictures of her itty bitty. I posted my favorites here. I love babies!
I am happy to say though, that I may be ok just taking pictures of other people's cute little ones. I think I was a little too happy knowing that I get to sleep aaaallll night loooong.
Here are two of my babies. Weren't they cute (and chubby)?

Escape

Kent works sometimes with Brian (you'll read about him in the end of the book). He invited him to his girlfriend's (the author's) book signing. So he went to it and got the book and listened to some of her story. I finished the book yesterday.

In a nutshell: Surreal story about her escape with her eight kids from the super extremist FLDS Colorado City life.
My thoughts: I can't believe this happens in America and so close to home. Very interesting story. I'm all for letting people practice their religious beliefs, but people should be free to choose and not trapped by power, ignorance, and fear.

Awww

I love it when the kids take care of each other. Sawyer can be very loving with Hayden (most of the time). If Hayden gets hurt or falls he'll help him up, rub his head, and give him a kiss and a hug. Those boys melt my heart.
