Pinewood Derby

It's Derby time! Hayden and Kent made a great little car that Hayden chose to paint gold. It was a well organized event and moved quickly and orderly and the boys had a great time.  One more year of derbys for Hayden!

Happy Easter

We had an Easter egg hunt in our backyard first thing in the morning. Some of the eggs were harder to find (and remember) so we ended up a bit late for church.

After church we went to Van Leeuwens for the grandkids egg hunt and a little dinner.

Geode beds

Hayden has been asking to go to the Geode beds for well over a year now. The stars aligned and the kids and Kent both had the day off, so we finally went! The claim that used to excavate for a small fee was shut down by BLM, but there were still a few pits left open. We found one that had a pretty decent selection of geodes. The drive follows the old Pony Express road for quite a while. There was a herd of wild horses that we enjoyed seeing too.

Hike the Y

We finally crossed off 'hiking the Y' off our Utah bucket list. The pathway is well defined, but man it was a difficult incline! Josh complained the entire time. The others were champs though. We can do hard things!

Then we treated ourselves to some ice cream from the creamery, and our free donuts from Krispy Kreme with our report cards.

Easter Nests

For Family night we made little Easter nests out of rice krispie treats, coconut and cadbury eggs. Then we picked a few families and delivered them.

Walking the chicken

McKinley bought a leash for the chickens. She tried to take one for a walk. It turned out just about as you would expect...

Leader of the Month

Our little Hayden was selected as Leader of the Month in our school's Leader in Me program. He was selected for the "Sharpen the Saw" habit. We went to a before school breakfast where he got to eat chik-fil-a (which he loved). Susan Pulsipher (state legislator) gave a little speech and they got a bag of trinkets (which he also loved). He's such a sweet boy and we are always happy when other people see the good in him too!

Classic Skate Night

Tonight was another Classic Skate Night for our school.

They had some special Star Wars guests for the kids to meet and greet. It was pretty cool!
