Today was the big day! Giant Pumpkin weigh-off day at Thanksgiving Point!
Kent and McKinley took our pumpkins this morning. The rest of us arrived around weigh-off time.
It was Harvest Festival time at Thanksgiving Point. There were farmer's market vendors and fall activities. It was a fun Fall thing to do on a Saturday!
Here's a few of the giants. Aren't pumpkins beautiful?
Pumpkin ring toss was one of the games to play at the festival. The kids got some little trinkets as prizes.
Now those are real beauties :) Our pumpkins are front and center in this photo (on the fuzzy rug, and with the water bottle beside it).
Pumpkin weighing time! Josh has gone out every day with daddy to check on the pumpkins, so he was part owner in it.
First weight 313 lbs!
"Tell us about your pumpkin."
Everyone was having a fun time!
We were definitely not the biggest of the day, but we weren't the littlest of the day either. Our pumpkins were 287 and 313 lbs.
Regular pumpkins for sale at the festival.
A guy had made a pumpkin house made out of balloons that the kids really enjoyed seeing. Inside was a black pot belly stove with a pot of corn on top, a table with a bowl of apples, herbs "drying" on the wall, and fruits and veggies hanging on the shelves.
More pictures of our precious pumpkins...
And here is McKinley by the new state record holding pumpkin that came in at 1731 lbs! Whoa!
The kids all want to do it again next year. McKinley and Sawyer want to grow their own pumpkins next year.
