I sent the kids back to school today after a nice, long three weeks off track. Turns out they don't start until tomorrow. Whoops! Who starts on a Wednesday after Memorial day? All the other tracks were there, and McKinley finally figured out for us that they weren't supposed to be there.
Well, since we had another day off track we decided to go somewhere with my museum pass. We tried Clark's planetarium. I didn't know admission to the museum was free! My museum pass did get us free tickets to the dome theatre, which was my favorite part. Hayden is talking about going to the planetarium now for his birthday party. They had fun. Now they really get to go back to school tomorrow.

Party time!
A little rundown on McKinley's birthday activities yesterday.
We started the day off by getting braces! She was so excited and asked to have it done ON her birthday. Little did she know the pain that would shortly ensue :(
We had about 15 minutes between braces and her birthday party at our house. She invited some friends from her class at school. She asked that it be 4 hours long, so I obliged.
Her theme was mustaches. They painted a little tote bag, played some games, did bubble art, made pizzas, had a silly string game, posed in a mustache photo booth, cake and ice cream of course, and just had fun!

Later that evening, she took a cupcake over the her birthday buddy. Then she had dinner with Kent (her request). They ended up at Red Robin where she had a shake for dinner since it was one of the only things her newly sore teeth could handle.
Then back home for family present opening. McKinley got money from us like she asked and added it to her stash so she could buy an iPod. Sawyer and Hayden gave her Monster High dolls, and Josh gave her an itunes card.
Happy Birthday Kinney!
Undefeated
Sawyer's team has had a great spring season. They have worked hard and practiced a lot. They have so far won every game (one game left). So Sawyer's coach took them out for ice cream in a limo. The boys all loved it. Sawyer thinks we should get a limo now.

Mother's Day
Mother's day morning I woke up late (9:00), ate breakfast in bed (made by McKinley), and opened a few sweet gifts. McKinley made some pot holders and gave me two books of her poetry. Sawyer gave me a marigold and a card with a coupon to "sleep 8 times". Hayden gave me a flower he planted at school. He came home with it when he went off track and told me to "forget all about it". So I did :)
Later we went up Big Cottonwood Canyon for a picnic.
That night Kent bbq'd some steaks for dinner, yum! We ended the night playing in the grass at Grandma's. Can't wait until we get our grass!

Enjoying the weather
It was a lovely Thursday today! We exercised at the park, the kids washed their bikes, and McKinley hosted a little tea party while Josh napped. We ended the evening with the kids presenting their book reports. We are having a good first week of off track time!

Visiting Sadie
I took the kids to the fire station park while I ran around the track. McKinley did 16 laps, Sawyer did 8 and Hayden did his best. I saw him fall off one particular time and start kicking his bike. I was halfway around the track so I couldn't talk him down until I met back up with him. Josh hung out in the stroller.
Afterwards we went to visit Sadie. We gave her a nice bath, then took her to the Dunsinane building property for some nice fenced in running around. We returned her to Chad's fluffy white and well exercised! The kids had a good time, and since they were so good the entire time, we stopped at Arctic Circle for ice cream cones (just for the kids---I didn't want to undo all my good running).

Swim lessons
After 2 1/2 years we finally got back into swimming lessons! I will never complain about swimming lesson prices after living in Connecticut. One child session at the Y in Wilton was just under $300. One child session here in SJ is $35! Which is why my kids never took lessons in Connecticut.
So we are very happy to be back in the swing of things, and I will definitely make sure the kids get all the swimming lessons crammed in that they can in case we ever have to move again!
And luckily they now allow the kids to play in the kiddie area while their siblings are having their classes. That will be a lifesaver!

Sick day
Hayden's home sick today. We narrowly avoided a vomitus disaster this morning in my bed, but luckily the 2 month old carpet was spared this round. Yay!
