Growing pains

This week I finally decided that it was time to put away the crib and let my soon-to-be-3-year-old sleep in a "big boy bed". Luckily things have been going very well (knock on wood) and he has not been getting out of bed at all yet. We had this full bed in storage to use temporarily until my dad makes the boys twin bed stands.
Apparently now that he is a "big boy" he thinks he can just go ahead and grow up now! We got this bike from Kent's sister yesterday and Kent fixed it up. Today Hayden has been riding it around our basketball court like a regular big kid. This is getting ridiculous. Speaking of growing up fast, our puppy is getting big too!
I'm not sure I like this growing stuff.

Memorial Day Weekend

We had a very looong weekend. We started on Friday by patching holes/dings in the wall and repainting the family room, kitchen, stairway, and landing a lighter color to brighten the place up.We also repainted the master bathroom and finally put up the oil rubbed bronze accessories we've had since we tiled our shower last year. And I repainted McKinley's ceiling because we had a patch job from when the water people were looking for access points, which was years ago.

Then on Sunday Hayden had a fever and conjunctivitis so I took him to the instacare who also found he had an ear infection. So he got started on medication. He threw up that night and so we hauled a mattress into his room so I could sleep by him. He was still in a crib and that of course makes it hard to catch throw up.
Needless to say Sunday night was miserable, and Monday morning I felt sick and had a fever. Blech!
My parents had invited us over in the afternoon to eat loverly filet mignon and other fixins and use their new hot tub. I was so sad. I took a nap and later that day felt a little better so I took McKinley and Sawyer over to enjoy some food and hot tub, while I watched from a comfy chair. We had to miss the neighborhood BBQ that we were actually going to go to this year.
We are trying to arrange a broker market analysis to tell us what our house may be able to list for, and that will help us in this whole Connecticut decision.
So we are either fixing up the house for someone else, or it has given us the kick in the pants we've needed to do the little jobs so we can enjoy it for ourselves.

A good man in the making

Today I went to the mall to return something and use my 40% off coupon at Banana Republic. I had the two boys with me so I had to try on the shirt with them for my audience. Once I put on the new shirt Hayden immediately said "You look perfect!"

I gave him a big kiss and I got the shirt of course.

He'll make someone a good husband one day.

Graduation day!

For my Sawyer! What a cute little boy. The ceremony was complete with procession, singing, and throwing hats in the air. I can't believe he's done with preschool! What a year of growth for Sawyer. Good job Sawyer, I'm so proud of you.

With his teacher Miss Amee, who he says we need to visit this summer. With his neighborhood buddies, who are just as crazy as he is, thank heavens!

Shiner

Hayden got his first shiner this weekend.

He fell in the tub and hit his cheek on the side of the tub. It immediately swelled up to a huge goose egg, so I had him checked out and x-rayed to make sure there were no bone fractures.

He looks like a little boxer, poor baby.

Important Indecisions

We are in the midst of a big decision, and can NOT decide one way or the other. I am going crazy.

McKinley is all for it.

Sawyer says "no, not until I'm 11."

Hayden and I haven't discussed it yet.

The indecision has left a giant rumbling pit in my stomach.

I can't wait until this is over one way or another.

To be continued....

More birthday fun

Why aren't birthdays ever just one day anymore? Next up is a family party on Sunday. We get to combine the two kids together though, along with McKinley's grandpa whose birthday is on the same day as McKinley's. Or vice versa depending on who you're asking.
