Thursday night was Sawyer's first Pinewood Derby! Kent was very involved despite busy season being in full force. He made 3 cars so we could try different methods. McKinley and Hayden each got to have a car to decorate and race. The cars all did great. Hayden's car even got four 1st places! Only cub scouts were eligible for the finals though, and Sawyer ended up with overall 2nd place. He was happy! Way to go Kent--I mean Sawyer!
After the pinewood cars, the siblings of the scouts got to race in a banana derby (little cars that hold a banana on top) and send them down the track.
Josh won the banana derby. He was obviously thrilled about the victory.
