Anniversary getaway

 This year is our 23rd anniversary. We planned a little overnight getaway. We started by visiting the Homestead Crater. We floated and soaked in there for about an hour. 

Then we checked into our hotel. We decided to try the Homestead Resort. It is currently under remodeling construction. Unfortunately our room was in the PRE phase still. So it was not overwhelmingly beautiful, but the Midway area was beautiful to see.

Then we ate dinner at Ruth's Chris in Park City. Always yummy! We left the next day but it was nice to get away together for even just a little bit. 

Arches

 It is our week of Spring Break. Kent has too much work going on, and McKinley has work on Monday, Wednesday and Fridays, so we opted to stay around. Sawyer went to St. George with his friend's family. 

On Tuesday we went to see the new Fantastic Beasts movie, minus McKinley and friend because McKinley got sick. So we invited Grandma and Grandpa to join us. 

Then on Thursday McKinley really wanted to take a day trip to Arches. So we left around 9 am and returned home around 11 pm. We visited the Windows area and then Delicate Arch. That was plenty of exercise for our little crew and we were definitely worn out, but had a great time.

Easter Weekend

 This Easter weekend we had our annual egg hunt and dinner at Van Leeuwens. Sawyer had to work. 

Then on Sunday we went to church first and then did our hunt after (much to the chagrin of Josh). It always takes someone a little bit longer to finally find all of theirs and this year was no different. The kids favorite eggs are the money filled ones. They also got some Easter baskets filled with a salty treat and a drink, new spring shirts, and a book.

Egg Races

This year we decided to try something new for our aging kids. We started by dyeing/decorating our boiled eggs. Then we held a few heats of egg races. Each race heat winner received a $1 prize. We'll be doing this tradition again.

 

Ward Easter Egg hunt

 Our ward got split on Sunday, so this was our last Easter Egg Hunt all together. Josh surprised me by deciding to go. 

Spring Snow

 This morning had a beautiful Spring snow storm. The trees were laden down on their blossoms, but luckily none of our branches broke. 

I went running at the park and thought the evergreens looked perfect! 

Then on my way home, someone didn't see the light was red and smashed into the yellow car and pushed that yellow car into me. All three cars had to be towed, but all three cars people were unharmed. Now we get to wait for the car to get fixed. 

Voles

 Ew, we have voles in our lawn. We waged a war on the creatures now including mouse traps, poison, smoke bombs and more. Wish us luck!
