Wolf

Hayden received his Wolf badge this month at pack meeting! He's such a cute little cub scout and I've loved being able to be his den leader!

All you need is love

A rough week of middle school drama means an impromptu stop for a little waffle love.  Apparently it means a little selfie love for some people too.

BYU Men's volleyball

 Hayden is not very interested in sports. He was convinced to try volleyball by his friend Noah. He loved it! I took the boys to see the BYU Men's volleyball in action since most of the rec volleyball team is girls. I wanted him to know that it is a boys sport as well.  As you can tell, they had fun.

December Orchestra Concert

I just found my video camera software in storage, so now I can upload the concert video from December 3rd for any grandparents that want to see it...

McKinley was very happy after the concert to have tried out and made 1st stand (2nd chair) in her advanced orchestra class full of 8th and 9th graders.

The Leonardo

Earlier this year Hayden won a ticket to the Leonardo.  It expired today so I took him first thing this morning. We paid extra to be able to see the Mummies exhibit while we were there. It was interesting. I thought Hayden might be grossed out by it, but my little scientist wasn't. The rest of the museum was fun too. He has added a plasma ball to his birthday list!

Sledding

We went sledding for a couple hours today with some cousins. We went to the Jordan Pines trail area up Big Cottonwood Canyon. It's about 10 miles up the canyon.

Josh would only go slow with me, until he decided to go with McKinley once. They promptly ended up in the trees where, as he describes it, he "bounced around like a coconut". He was done with sledding after that.

Merry Christmas

We woke up at 7:30 this morning (I was shooting for 8:00). Opened presents, watched a DVD (Inside Out), played with toys/legos, and lounged around.

In the evening we got dressed and went to Grandma and Grandpa Van Leeuwen's  house for more presents, cousins, and food. 

Present favorites for this year:

McKinley: clothes, slippers, nail stuff, and art stuff

Sawyer: Laser tag, air glider

Hayden: helicopter, metal detector

Josh: Lightning McQueen changer, Paw Patrol figures
