Mabey's Pumpkin Patch

My parents had a shindig at Mabey's pumpkin patch that they were invited to that included their kids and grandkids.  We were happy to tag-a-long and visit the pumpkin patch and see cousins.  After picking out a pumpkin for each of us, we had some little treats and hot chocolate.
Although we grew our own pumpkins in our garden this year, there is something about going to an actual pumpkin patch to celebrate the fall!

We own a zoo

I made the kids do some research while they are off track and before we go to the zoo.  They had to find a zoo animal book at the library and read up on it.  Then they made their animal masks and I came to visit them downstairs in our zoo.

Free lunch Tuesdays

After morning viola lessons, and braces adjustment, we got our free kids lunches at Ikea.  Nom noms.  They were giving out little ghosts masks in line too.  Hayden is the only one who is big/small enough for Smalland, so we just ate and left.

Adventures with Hayden

Yesterday Hayden stood up in the grocery cart and fell out onto the concrete floor on his head.  A little later he was irrationally emotional so I decided to take him to the doctor.  On our way, the vomiting began.  Our first stop, urgent care, sent us straight to the ER.  The ER put him in a collar, started an IV, and then took x-rays and a CT scan.
Hours later, the scans were excellent and we were released to home.  I slept in his room last night and he slept very well.
This morning, when he stands up, the headache pounds, so we're taking it easy.
Nothing like a little excitement the first day off track, poor baby.

Pears

In keeping with my New Year's resolution to take a class (any class), I signed up for a watercolor class on Nicolesclasses.com.

Here is my first completed project.  If you can tell that they are pears, then I count my first attempt a success.

It is fulfilling to create.

Scarecrow

The library has a scarecrow contest.  We got our entry in just in the nick of time, the deadline is today.  There are supposedly 8 prizes to give out and we were entry #7, so we feel hopeful!

That's our little scarecrow behind the kids (with the pumpkins at it's feet).

Happy 2 years old!

Our little bear turned 2 years old today!
He still has the sniffles so he couldn't go to church today, but we started the morning with some presents.  He got a little bike, a stuffed puppy, and some nice cards from the kids.  McKinley also made him a blanket and gave him the library book she earned this summer and has been saving for his birthday.

Later that night we went to the cousin party to celebrate 4 cousins birthdays.  He got a lot of fun toys and was definitely worn out by the time we left at 8:30.

He had a great day and tomorrow we'll have cupcakes with our little family to celebrate our favorite little toddler.
