Sourdough

Late to the sourdough game, but here we go.

 

Eagles

 Kent and I went down to Sanpete County to look for the migrating Bald Eagles. At first pickings were slim and we saw a few on telephone poles. But then we turned on a road toward Maple Canyon and found tons!

Afterward we stopped in Ephraim for lunch and then headed back home.

December

It's December time!

We went to Christkindlemarkt

Celebrated Dutch Christmas Eve!

Shelley and I walked/ran the SoJo Santa race

 We made necklaces using the sea glass we found in Scotland

I made mini gingerbread houses for Josh's class to decorate for his class party. It's his last year of elementary school!

This year we organized the neighborhood service project for the Kauri Sue Hamilton school. 

And enjoyed the Christmas festivities with extended family

Thanksgiving

 This year was Thanksgiving on the Korth side. We gathered at Shelley’s house, ate good food, and played games.

McKinley made these turkeys for her other Thanksgiving

Halloween

Josh chose a sweatshirt that reads “I dressed up as myself for Halloween”. 

He walked in his last elementary parade. 

We had “boo” bread and soup for dinner. 

Josh trick or treated with a couple friends.

McKinley and Davis went to family party.

Sawyer dressed up at work as a Pokemon creature. 

Pumpkins

 Tonight Josh agreed to go to the trunk or treat. Then when we returned he wanted to carve pumpkins. So Josh and McKinley each carved one.

Bison Round up

This morning Kent, McKinley and I went to the Bison round up on Antelope Island. No one else was interested in going.

We were directed to the road on the way to the ranch first.

We passed a nice herd on the way.

Eventually some Bison began getting herded through the passageway in front of us.

The Bison were herded up and over a ridge. This is when we drove over to the White Rock Bay area viewpoint. We had time to get some food from the food trucks there and set up our chairs and eat lunch.

Then the Bison came around and over the hill. They were herded along the fence line and on to the health center to be checked and some auctioned off. The island can only handle a herd of around 550, and each year they grow to around 700-800.

On the way out, here, the Salt Lake had it's pink hue going on.

I though it was a fun experience for the day.
