Gunlock Falls

We decided to check out Gunlock Falls while they are flowing. They don't often flow, but our snow pack is making this a nice flowing year! They were very cool to see.

We stayed overnight at the Zion Wildflower. They had yurts, cabins, covered wagons to stay in. We rode the bikes they have around camp. There was live music in the evening. Then we roasted marshmallows around the communal fire using our included s'mores kit. It was a cute place and we hope to stay again sometime a little longer.

The next morning, our plan was to go sand boarding at the Coral Pink Sand Dunes. When we arrived though, the temperature was still in the 20's. We instead opted for a quick glance and then returned to our car to drive home. Another time Sand dunes.

Art

I've been able to get back into making some art lately. It is so soothing and fulfilling to create. I ended up entering this watercolor Peonies into the city art show, along with my photograph of Moraine Lake. I didn't win, but I did get an honorable mention for my photo.

Bryce in Winter

It was Kent's turn to take an adult child only trip. McKinley wanted him to go with her to Bryce in the snow. They strapped on their crampons and got to explore a lot of incredible nature covered in beautiful snow. They had a great time! This girl loves her adventures!

Hokusai

BYU brought out their Hokusai woodblock print to view this week. I was excited to take a break during work and easily head over there to see it. I missed the Hokusai somehow at the Met when McKinley and I were there in January.

Chicks

Since the pandemic, backyard chickens have gained popularity. So now, I had to wait in line before 8:00 am to get a number to come back after 12 to pick out my chicks.

We got 3 Blue Australorps.

Snow day

We got about 2 feet of snow. The school's called a snow day and the boys checked in online for assignments. I think we need a better snow plow for stuff like this!

President's Cup

Josh's team had the President's Cup tournament in St. George this weekend. Our whole family was able to come and enjoy a warmer weekend. Our team did not do great, but we had a great time anyway.

Josh can do this weird thing with his swim shirt and blow air into it to turn it into a personal floating device.

He's made such great improvements from when he started, but he wants to be done with soccer, so this is his last tournament.

He has a great team with good boys, and wonderful coaches. We've had a blast being on this team.
