Bear Lake

We had a fun trip to Bear Lake over the weekend. We visited Minnetonka caves again, played on the water, ate shakes and played Skull King back at the condo.

We lived the Bear Lake mantra: Wake, Lake, and Shake!

 

Monarchs

 We missed our first Monarch butterfly's emergence. It was in a chrysalis one minute and then when we returned 5 minutes later it had already fully emerged! So I set up my camera for the next one and caught it on time-lapse.

Bryce Canyon

We visited the beautiful Bryce Canyon during the Astronomy Festival. We stayed in Ruby's Inn right outside the park and it was the perfect location.

Most of us had a nice time. Hayden did not appreciate being forced outside for family fun.

We hiked from Sunrise Point to Sunset Point via Queens Garden.

Then we followed Navajo Trail via Wall Street.

We didn't get any pictures at the Astronomy Festival. But the dark skies were beautiful and the skies were clear so we could see some space objects in some of the telescopes that were set up.

Graduate

McKinley finished up her first and last year at Dixie State. She earned her Associates of Science degree in one year thanks to her concurrent classes in high school. She's already started summer semester at UVU.

 

Birthday Boy

Hayden chose to go to Outback for his birthday dinner this year. He ate a steak, mashed potatoes and cheesecake for dessert. He's been obsessed with cheesecake these past few months.

Water troubles

Well, here we are again. This is the second time we've had water coming in through the basement through this spot and had to dig all that dirt up. This time it seemed to be an osmosis problem through the foundation wall. So we sealed it again. Let's hope this is the last time!
