Alpine Loop

 The plan was to take beautiful fall pictures up the canyon in the Alpine Loop.  Unfortunately, there was a fungus that went around up there and all the leaves are either gone, or blackened.  Not pretty.  We took the pictures anyway.

Moon watching

Tonight was the big Super Moon/total lunar eclipse/blood moon.  Grandma and Grandpa Korth brought over their telescope and we watched from the front porch.

Fall is starting!

We took a Sunday drive up to Silver Lake.  The aspens are turning yellow!  Fall is on it's way!

We also saw a moose!  We must be moose magnets this year.

Even though it will be in the 80's  all week, I think I'm going to need to stock up on my apple cider and pretend it's fall down here too.

Art and soccer

McKinley entered the chalk art festival again this year.  She did a drawing of a deer with beech trees in the background.  She had fun and did a good job.  In between art she had a soccer game to play in.  She is on the U14 this year.  She made two goals today.  Yay!

Sawyer's birthday party

We finally did Sawyer's birthday party.  I was kind of hoping he'd forget about the whole thing, but when he didn't we had to do it. After much deliberation we decided to rent some bubble balls, do ice blocking, and then watch an outdoor movie.  The boys seemed to have fun, and Sawyer was happy.  Mission accomplished!

Lantern Festival

I got to check off something from my bucket list today.  I have wanted to go to a lantern festival for years.  It was held out by the Bonneville seabase.  The boys got to roast s'mores first.  Then we lit the lanterns.  We tried to light two lanterns, but one of them didn't do so well.  It's trickier than I thought.  But one of them made it up into the air and far away.  Josh was a bit sad for a bit after a lantern ran into us...on fire.  It was so pretty to see them all up in the sky.

First day of preschool

Oh my goodness!  Where does the time go?  My baby started his first day of preschool today.  He is going to Miss Amee's.  He looks so grown up with his little backpack going off into the big world!
