Saturday was game 4 for McKinley's team and their first win. She missed the first 2 games and practices due to illness. This week our delicate little flower got dehydrated (again!) and had a bit of a headache during the game. But we made her stick it out for her team. The reward was a team win! Yay! Her coach made sure to mention how much he thought McKinley had improved since the fall. She's working hard and made a couple of assists in the game.

McKinley's day started with donuts from our sweet neighbor. Then she got ready for school, and was able to open her presents. She got a lunch bag, hamster ball and igloo, followed shortly by her new hamster and it's habitat. Then she had to go to school!
She forgot to eat breakfast, but for lunch she requested a smoothie (Jamba Juice) and donuts for all of her class. I brought her a birthday cupcake too, but apparently she was too full of smoothie and donuts.
After school she played with her hamster, Jinx. I painted her toes with some new polish. Then we picked Sawyer up from a party and visited Grandpa V. with whom she shares a birthday.
In the evening, Kent took her to dinner at Red Robin. Then they stopped by our friend's candy shop in the district to say hello on their opening day. After playing with Jinx again outside, we sang happy birthday and ate yummy cake.
Happy birthday Kinners! (I've already told her it's her last birthday. I refuse to let her go.)

Go Hawks
Sawyer's soccer season is almost over. He started with most of this team last spring. Then they formed the Hawks team this fall and into spring. It has been a fun team, good players, and great coaches. The coach is pregnant though and won't be coaching next season, so this is the last we'll see of these guys on the field. I love to watch him play. He still LOVES it!
Manners Day
Thursday was Manners Day/Mother's Day in Sawyer's class. The kids dressed up in their nice clothes and hosted a little luncheon for their mothers. They memorized a little poem and sang a sweet song. Sawyer warned me days before "You're going to cry, we're singing a song." I got teary eyed but focused my crying away so I wouldn't embarrass the kid. He was excited for the big day. They ended by giving each mom a little gift they had put together.

Spring Sports
Spring sports are in full bloom (ha ha)! Sawyer somehow talked me into letting him do flag football in addition to soccer again. So we are busy, busy. But he loves every minute of it!
And I love watching him love it!

Moo
We picked up our cow meat today from Circle V Meat. We got 1/4 cow. McKinley had fun playing 'meat packer' with our food saver. We finally had to plug in our big freezer after 3 years of not using it.

Can't catch a break
Well, off track time is at an end, and poor McKinley spent most of it being sick. She ended up being strep negative, but has had a lovely virus with a lingering dry cough. Today she added a nice itchy set of hives to her list of ailments. Poor kid can't catch a break!
