Soccer Party

Sawyer had some super coaches this year for soccer.  They threw a little soccer party on their last practice, complete with Sawyer's favorite pizza!

And as we all know, the best part of playing soccer is getting the trophy!

They had an undefeated season!  Way to go Harpy Eagles!

Josh's table

I finally decided on a coffee table this week.  As soon as I set it up in the room, I turned around to this.

He thinks it is the perfect spot for him.  I guess I won't be accessorizing the coffee table top with books or knick knacks for a while.  What's the point?

I guess I'll just have to count this guy as our table top accessory :)

Pouting

When Josh doesn't get what he wants, is told "no", or is feeling stranger anxiety, he pouts by freezing in place, sticking out his tongue, and lifting his left arm into a position that looks like it's broken.  The first few times he started doing it I was worried his arm might be hurt, but no, it's just part of the pout.

Silly boy.

Party time

The busy day begins at 2:30 am.  Yes.  2:30 am.  I woke up, got ready, and picked up my sister at 3:00 am and headed down to Provo for our half marathon that starts at 6:00 am.  They had to shuttle us up the canyon and the last bus left at 4:30 am, so we needed to be sure to make a bus that wouldn't be full.  We huddled against a wall up in the canyon and waited for the start of the race.
2 hours and 19 minutes later the race was done.  When we were done we waited in line for the free post-race massage.  Not sure it was worth the wait time.  Good race, glad it's done.
Now back home.  Kent was throwing up all night, so no kids are ready or at their soccer games yet.  Hurriedly got the kids ready and out the door.  Sawyer made it to his game at half time.  Oh well, at least he made it.  Hayden played in all of his game which ended at 12:00.
We hurry home to change, straighten up, and for me to shower after my long race yuckiness.  The party starts at 1:00, yikes!  Lucky for me, when I asked Hayden what he wanted to do for his party and who he wanted to invite, he suggested going to the planetarium and only requested two boys for his guests.  Phew!
So, after putting Josh down for his nap, I take the older kids and Hayden and his friends downtown to the Planetarium.  Per Hayden's request I let the boys choose something from the gift shop as their party 'gift bag'.
After the planetarium movie is over, time is running short until 4:00, and we still need to eat something.  So instead of eating downtown somewhere, I opt for drive-thru.  We don't all want the same place though so we stop at both Burger King and McD's.
When we arrive back home and finish our food, I dish out the ice cream cake and hurry and make Hayden open his presents.  One kid is gone at 4.  One to go.  His dad forgot about him a little so we played games outside until I called him and he arrived at 4:30.
It's over, yay!  We made it.
Since I haven't eaten since my 3 am banana and post race chocolate milk and half of a creamy, I need food. I have post race permission to intake a few more calories today, so I got some Outback cheese fries.  Mmmm.
Kids in bed, I'm exhausted, Kent's still sick, so I crash with McKinley in her cozy double bed.
Good night.

Al fresca

Josh threw a fit and refused to eat his ice cream cake at the table.  As soon as we let him down he promptly grabbed his bowl and headed outside.  I guess it just tastes better outside!

Every time a door opens a crack Josh is trying to squeeze through and escape.  Our fence cannot be built soon enough!

Birthday boy

Hayden did not have school on his birthday today, due to kindergarten testing.  We ran errands in the morning, but I told him he could have anything he wanted for lunch...he chose a twist ice cream cone from Arctic Circle.  Sure!
After activity days in the afternoon, we took the family to Hayden's dinner request...Chuck E. Cheese!  He really wanted to go in the ticket blaster, but that is only for those who book a party there.  We got pizza and played until our tokens were gone.
When we got back home we opened presents.   Hayden got a scooter, money, wallet, bubbles, water balloons, and Pokemon cards from the family.  Grandma and Grandpa Korth dropped by a present, which was a rocket ship.  He can't wait to try it out!
Hayden wanted an ice cream cake so we ordered one from Cold Stone.  I need to learn how to make one of those myself!  He chose his design based on the car toy on top.
After playing for a while it was off to bed.  Tomorrow is another busy birthday day!
